Builds — what you can actually plan around
Honest framing: it is launch day. Nobody has cleared the game, counted the skill tree, or published Spirit Stone values — so nobody on the internet has a tested endgame build, including us. What exists today is a set of verified mechanics that make some early choices clearly better than others. Build on those; ignore any site selling you a “best build” with invented numbers.
The combat economy every build runs on
- A successful parry does three things at once: refills Koo's FP, builds the enemy's Down Gauge, and charges Emma's Blade Arts gauge. ✓ corroboratedGame8 beginner guide, GamerFuzion systems explainer and PixelNitro agree
- FP is Koo's resource for Bloom Arts and is recovered through (perfect) parries. ✓ corroboratedGamerFuzion + PixelNitro; a community trainer also exposes an FP value
- Opening the Bloom Arts command menu slows time; skills chain into a QTE follow-up. Effects span elemental damage, crowd control, poison, and launch combos, and skills accept mods (HP recovery, Vigor buff, extra FP generation). ✓ corroboratedGame8 beginner guide + multiple launch reviews
- Blade Arts are Emma's heavy techniques; the gauge sits bottom-center of the screen and specific arts drop from bosses (Blade Art: Nue / Nobudou / Thunder). ✓ corroboratedGame8 beginner guide + Game8 boss table rewards column
- The Down Gauge is a stagger bar built by parries and by Koo's skills (which build it faster). Filling it opens an execution window with an on-screen prompt. ✓ corroboratedGame8 beginner guide + GamerFuzion
- Koo takes three command stances: Aggressive, Defensive, and Focused Targeting. community-reportedPixelNitro beginner guide
- Exact parry timing windows, Down Gauge thresholds, and the FP cap are not published anywhere yet — any site listing them is making them up. unconfirmedVerified absence across Game8, launch reviews, Reddit and Steam guides (Aug 4)
Three defensible early directions
Parry-first (the systems favorite)
Every parry pays out three times — FP for Koo, Down Gauge on the enemy, Blade Arts charge for Emma. The game’s reward loop points here regardless of gear. ✓ corroborated
Strength 7 rush → Pounce
Strength raises attack and defense, and at 7 it opens Koo’s Pounce branch — chance-based instant kills that lead down to Healing Bouquet / Healing Garden. community-reported
Status/Blight caster
Koo’s Incantation branch focuses status ailments, Bloom Arts take mods (HP recovery, Vigor, FP generation), and Florescence scales Skill Power. Coherent on paper — but the most single-source of the three. community-reported
Nushi rewards shape your build order
Each Nushi kill hands you a named skill line (Sakura from Rangifer, Dokuzeri from Lacerta, Botan from Taurus, Nobudou from Corvus, Asagao from Ursa, Kiku from Erymanth) — see the boss table. Boss kills also bloom new tree branches, so build depth is progression-gated by design. community-reported
