Updates & patch notes — tracked with sources
Beast of Reincarnation launched to a split reception, and Game Freak has publicly committed to “a series of continuous updates”. This page tracks every patch: what was announced, what actually shipped, and — once patches land — what they change about the advice on this site (builds, difficulty, progression). Announcements are labeled like everything else here.
Announced: first major patch (targeted within a week of Aug 5)
Game Freak announced the first multi-platform update via its official account on August 5, with five improvements: ✓ corroborated
- Camera adjustments
- Increased text size
- Story pacing improvements (with ongoing adjustments planned)
- Default graphics setting changed from Cinematic to Performance mode
- Other bug fixes
Sources: Game Freak’s announcement (@GAMEFREAK_info), reported independently by Pure Xbox, Shacknews, Game Informer, Kotaku and Push Square. Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
Worth noting for build-planning: nothing in the announced scope touches combat balance, attributes, skills or Spirit Stones — the current best-build guidance should survive patch 1 untouched. If that changes when the notes ship, this page will say so the same day.
Shipped: day-one emergency patch (Xbox, Aug 4)
A launch-day emergency patch went out specifically for Xbox to address performance glitches and stuttering — reportedly over 30GB. community-reported

What Game Freak has promised beyond patch 1
